RNF Butterfly

This bit is called often called a “butterfly” bit, and is named so after the famous show jumper, Butterfly Flip, who was ridden in one of these bits. They are more commonly referred to as RNF bits and “Kimberhooks.” They act similarly to both a Pelham Bit and a snaffle, though they are less harsh than a true Pelham. Unlike the Pelham bit, you only use one rein with an RNF or Kimberhook bit. There are different places you can attach the reins on the bit, making it suitable for different horses with varying needs.
